Electro Doll

Yayz~! After loads of re-editing due to the fact youtube keeps on finding my songs copyrighted (even though they've been modified and pitched changed), I've finally uploaded the tutorial for Electro Doll.

I must warn you- do not press on this picture to enlarge,
my skin is horrible here on my nose and my pores are HUGE!
Electro Doll is another HD gyaru tutorial (I'm really rolling these out aren't I?)- it's because I'm in the middle of choosing what I'd like to do as a theme for my Art GCSE, and one of my ideas were "Ball Joint Dolls"- so I'm just experimenting around ^^

I hope you all like this! =]

Btw, remember how I said I was going to watch what I eat and hopefully slim down a lil'? I've been failing miserably T^T that's why I still look a little pudgy on my cheeks in the tutorial...

First I had icecream at Heathrow airport right before my flight (Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough in a tub!!!! How does one resist?)

Behold, a picture of my face without any makeup at all
for once in a long, long time... ^^"
And then, once I got home, it was Creme Brulee ice cream (a.k.a. best stuff ever~!!!) ><

I must RESIST!

Btw, my new mani is Sally Hansen's Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips in "All Laced Up", with a gradient going upwards with OPI's "Metal 4 Life".

Last tutorial for the Spring Term

Just finished my last batch of soup for this school term- look at all that amazing goodness...!
It's super healthy, being high in vitamins/minerals, collagen, protein and fiber ^^

I also just filmed my last tutorial for my spring school term, it'll be Electro Doll - a glittery and slightly more colorful gyaru look ^^
Dark lighting makes my eyes look huge!

Life Updates + Weight Loss Plan

WARNING: Last picture may be slightly gory...

I'm so sad T^T
So very very sad...

I'm the type that has a body that normally does not show difference when I gain weight, however it also means it's really hard for me to lose weight and inches.

I know that all the girls in magazines and stuff are photo-shopped and retouched, and that a girl's skinny body is overrated in the media today in the 21st century. However, currently I'm really unhappy with the state of my body... not because I'm out of shape- but because I've gone out of shape because I'm unhealthy.

3 months ago, when I filmed this...

My height is 5'4 and these were my 3 "W" numbers:
Wrist: 14 centimeters
Waist: 22 inches
Weight: 43 kilograms

However, right now I have my exams (3 more days to go until this torture is over! I'm going home on the 29th~) and I major stress issues.

I eat when I am stressed.
I. Eat. A. Lot.

As in, I will go on junkfood picnics at the Castle with my friend, pig out on ice cream, finish whole 14' pizzas... etc, etc... this type of stuff:

From the best wood grilled Italian pizza place in town
Having a "picnic"...
at the Castle...
with the other girls in our dorm, while reading BNW...
Therefore, I have unhealthily gained a few inches and some weight (or mass to those that are scientific) T^T

Now, these are my 3 "W" numbers (I haven't gained a single cm in height XP):
Wrist: ~14.5 centimeters
Waist: 24.5 inches
Weight: 46 kilograms

My goal is to regain my original body structure, or convert my current "fat" into "muscle" through exercise and eating more healthily. I also want to hopefully regain the two lines over my stomach where I used to have the "ab muscles" at, while I never had abs, I had always had the outlines for them and I want them to be defined once again.

I will be starting will boiling some traditional Cantonese-style soup tonight... and having rice with that along with some steamed veggies...
Do you know what it is? Guess guess guess~ <3
My main form of exercise this term has been my dance rehersals for Hong Kong Society at my school's concert... here some shots from that night, because you can tell by my face that I seem to have gained some fat too ><":

- but now that the concert is over, I'll be focusing on my hoola hoops at home to hopefully slim down my waist and maybe start swimming in our pool now that its a bit warmer... depending on if I can get anyone to go with me, paintballing seems good too...

I'll also stop my consummation of junk food (apart from instant noodles which are vital to my exam period ><) and fizzy drinks (I'll be swapping my cola for some Pei Pa Koa) and stop taking antibiotics for my foot- which this happened to:
I stepped on a drawing pin... but...
it looks more like someone shot me with a gun ><
- and start taking vitamins instead... My personal preferences are iron supplements (i'm anemic ><), and either cod oil tablets (for my back where I have bone problems) or Supradyn Recharge tablets that taste the best out of the three XD

Wish me luck everybody!

Hunger Games

Kekekeke~ I went to see the Hunger Games yesterday with my friends Emma (whom you may remember from my Paris haul) and Amy. I read the book way before all the hype and movies because my English teacher had recommended it to me as part of my dystopian studies 2 years ago (and from then on, I stalked everything that had to do with it)! We went together for dinner at Nando's first and all got big cups of ice cream with lots (the cup was the size of my face when the guy was done with it ><) of whip cream before going into the movies =]

It definitely lived up to my expectations, I know that a lot of people didn't like all the cuttings (Madge anybody?) and the added scenes, but I thought, overall the movie was pretty well done. Jennifer Lawrence definitely seems like a real life Katniss to me and Liam Hemsworth is... good looking... and Aussie? XD

Only complaints I have were how Peeta managed to put paint on his face... to start off with- he couldn't have gotten gray paint from anywhere and secondly- how the hell did he know what he was painting on his face? I'm pretty sure you can't do that by finger painting with mud over a river XP The fire from their suits while they were on the chariot also did not live up to my expectations... but well- everythings limited to CG right?

Heres some random-ish shots from yesterday ^^

Btw, did anybody else laugh while watching the uber romantic scene of Peeta smearing blood all over Katniss' forehead? XD

Rabbit's Rosarium

My first ever HD tutorial! Guess what that means? I'll have to try hard to keep my skin as clear as possible >< I hope you guys enjoy this pink/red gyaru tutorial ^^

L’Odysée d'Enchantement

I just wanted to share this video with you all, watching this is like watching a fairytale unfold in front of you- absolutely breathtaking and enchanting- it's elegance is beyond what words can describe~

Also, just an update on the threatre... I recently watched This Means War with my friend (Amy & Emma ^^) for Amy's birthday after going to Nando's for dinner. Although the movie wasn't a masterpeice by any standards it was a great laugh... not to mention I was having the greatest time pointing at the screen and shouting "It's Hong Kong!!!" at the begininng being the only cantonese person in the threatre who recognized the IFC building XD.

Another movie I wanted to watch (excluding Hunger Games - because honestly- who doesn't want to watch it?) was "The Raven", as it was inspired by my favorite poem of all time (which is, as the namesake suggest "The Raven") ^^

Scent of Spring: Top 10 Fragrances for Spring 2012

Contemporary fragrances (widely available, alcohol based perfumes) of this season, to me, are usually the sweetest and slightly lighter- more of a murmur of scent rather than the growls of winter. Subtlety and office/school appropriate is what I was trying to aim for with this listing. The sillage on these scents should all leave a pleasant trail without being drowning those around you in scent.

I have tried to include fragrances from a wide range of brands and therefore price tags, as I realize most of us probably don't want to spend a months worth of pay on a bottle of scented alcohol.

Here, then, is my highly subjective list of ten fragrances that have been and will be keeping me company during this season of spring in 2012 in alphabetical order:

Annick Goutal Eau de Ciel EdT
For those that like: green florals
Recommendations: Annick Goutal Eau de Camille, L'Artisan Parfumeur La Chasse aux Papillons
One of my absolute all time favorites, taking in account that AGs are hard to not love. Eau de Ciel is airy and has an ethereal soft beauty to it, not everyone appreciates it but those that do will love this =] It smell fresh and natural, with newly cut violets and linden. Eau de Ciel is sweet, distinctive, light and uncomplicated- it has a kind of innocence to it.
Annick Goutal Eau de Ciel EdT has notes of linden, brazilian rose wood, violet leaves, neroli, iris and orange flowers

The Body Shop White Musk Libertine EdP (fem.)
For those that like: musk, clean scents, gourmands
Recommendations: Annick Goutal Ce Soir Ou Jamais, Thierry Mugler Angel Rose
White Musk Libertine is a flanker off the famous Body Shop fragrance: White Musk. Being only around 7 or 8, I faintly recall smelling my aunt's bottle straight off the dresser and recoiling at the strong synthetics and 'cleaniness' of it- nowadays I have become more lenient towards the scent, but it isn't anything I'd be getting a bottle of- White Musk Libertine however smell wonderfully gourmand without being cloying and has a kittenish feel to the overall composition. The best part? This coy mix of musk, roses and cream is a total steal!
The Body Shop White Musk Libertine EdP has notes of musk, turkish delight, baby orchid and chantilly cream

Britney Spears Circus Fantasy EdP (fem.)
For those that like: the Britney Spears Fantasy Series, sweet scents, gourmands
Recommendations: Nina Ricci Nina, Marc Jacobs Daisy
Possible the only fantasy I ever liked! While this is still apologetically sweet, this one is a more of the toffee apple Nina Ricci girly sweet then the scent of a fruit punch left to simmer in the sun to make it even sweeter. It smells faintly of smoothies and ice cream in the flavours of the fruits listed in the actual packaging in the beginning, but it tones down rather fast. Surprisingly, after a day on paper, my tester of Circus actually smelt dangerously similar to a fruit based version of MJ's Daisy! Take off all the unimportant adjectives and adverbs in the listed notes and it is actually an surprisingly accurate of the uncomplex scent.
Britney Spears Circus Fantasy EdP has notes of raspberry, apricot blossom, blue peony, water lily, red sweetheart orchid, vanilla wood, creamy musk and violet candy

Christian Dior Diorissimo EdT (fem.)
For those that like: solifoires, lily of the valley
Recommendations: Annick Goutal Le Muguet, Nina Ricci Fleur de Fleurs
Stunning. Sparkling. Light. If someone asked me what my favorite perfume was a year back -when I still stayed in the heat of Hong Kong- it would be Diorissimo. Having an effervescent effect not unlike that of champagne, it evokes all that is melancholic and innocent and leaves a wonderful trail wherever you wear it.  To me, lily of the valleys are really rendered into the 'lucky flower' Christian Dior claims it to be as I receive compliments whenever I wear this. Diorissimo is absolutely breathtaking on early spring mornings.
Christian Dior Diorissimo EdT has notes of greens, bergamot, lily of the valley, ylang ylang, rosewood, amaryllis, boronia, jasmine, sandalwood, and civet

D&G Anthology 03 L'impératrice EdT (fem.)
For those that like: fruity florals, sweet scents
Recommendations: Marc Jabob's Daisy, Britney Spears Circus Fantasy
Reminiscent of a Shirley Temple (both the non/and alcoholic ver. ;3) on a hot day with it's pink juice and coquettish sweetness, L'impératrice is very fun and flirty but still remains a little classy. Depending on skin chemistry L'impératrice will come out differently- I know for certain that while it becomes very fruity and juicy on some of my friends it goes quite soapy on me (not that I mind, sometimes soapy is good depending on how I'm feeling that day)- definitely try it out in the counters and spray some on your wrists and wait for it to develop if you are interested in it ^^
D&G 03 L'impératrice EdT has notes of pink pepper, kiwi, rhubarb, watermelon, cyclamen, jasmine, citrus wood, musks and sandalwood

Guerlain Shalimar Parfum Initial EdP (fem.)
For those that like: gourmands, smoky scents
Recommendations: Prada Candy, Agent Provocateur Eau Emotionelle
While it may not be everyone's cup of tea- those who enjoy deeper/richer and more lustrous or perfumes will enjoy this. It probably has the most resonating personality of all the perfumes in this listing. The citrus and smokiness comes off quite strong- but it balances out to be quite suitable for the still slightly cool but bright spring season. Although compared to other Guerlains, Shalimar Initial may come off a bit thin and more light hearted- it has a wonderful 'plush' quality to it's thin-ness. Shalimar Parfum Initial is what spring evenings smell like to me (or what I'll smell like in spring evenings) XD
Guerlain Shalimar Parfum Initial EdP has notes of bergamot, orange, green notes, fruity notes, rose, jasmine, iris, patchouli, vetiver, vanilla, tonka bean and white musk

Hermés Un Jardin Sur Le Toit EdT (unisex)
For those that like: green florals
Recommendations: Jo Malone Honeysuckle & Jasmine, Hermés Un Jardin Sur Le Nil
Given that Jean Claude Ellena composes for Hermés it can be said that most of the house scents are suitable for the spring and summer seasons- a great introductory fragrance to the house is "Un Jardin Sur Le Toit" because of it's more commercial qualities of light fruity and floral notes (but made greener and cleaner), it's probably the tamest and least interesting of the Jardin series- but thats what makes it so suitable for spring. It's pretty and soft. Marketed as unisex this leans towards the feminine side, although the slightly dirty green accord makes it suitable for guys too.
Hermés Un Jardin Sur Le Toit EdT has notes of apple, pear, rose, green grass, basil, magnolia and compost notes

L'Occitane Fleurs de Cerisier EdT
For those that like: light florals, (not very sweet) cherry blossoms
Recommendations: D&G 03 L'impératrice, Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Cherry Blossom
The sharp pungent alcohol of Fleurs de Cerisier takes a little longer than other perfumes (generally speaking) to tame down on skin; after that it becomes soft, sweet, fresh and girly- in general... pretty! It isn't terribly complex but it wasn't designed to be. It's great for what it is and delivers. If interested in Fleurs de Cerisier, take care to look carefully at it's bottle and label in store to make sure it isn't "Cherry Princess"- it's sister flanker that is slightly too sweet and migraine-attracting- one of the rare L'Occitanes that I cannot stand.
L'Occitane Fleurs de Cerisier EdT has notes of cherry note, freesia, black currant, lily of the valley, rose tree, amber and musk

L'Occitane Thé Vert EdT (unisex)
For those that like: tea scents, green florals, cirtus notes
Recommendations: L’Artisan Parfumeur The Pour Un Ete, Bvlgari Eau Parfumee au The Vert
The more economically viable version of the famous Bvlgari Eau Parfumee au The Vert from Mr. Ellena (aka. my favorite perfumier of all time)- L'Occitane's rendition is more of a straight up tea scent sprinkled with jasmine and citrus and it is more linear is comparison, however it smells much better than Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea, which I should probably mention as the most synthetic tea smelling perfume ever created. L'Occitane's Thé Vert will easily please those around you and will even bring you compliments (from both girls and guys ;3).
L'Occitane Thé Vert EdT has notes of bergamot, lime, cardamom, bitter orange, jasmine, yerba maté, green tea, cedarwood, amber and musk

Penhaligon's Bluebell EdT (fem.)
For those that like: watery florals, sharp notes
Recommendations: Prada Infusion d'Iris, Chanel No.19
Very English. Very, very sharp. Very, very, very dependent of body chemistry. You definitely need to try this before purchasing to avoid any tragedies. Bluebell will either smell like an victorian garden on you or like  just rolled in wet dirt... after spilling nail polish remover all over your shirt- however, with both, either sharpness or spicyness will read. This is particularly tempting to reach for on the wet rainy days of spring.
Penhaligon's Bluebell EdT has notes of citrus, hyacinth, lily of the valley, cyclamen, jasmine, rose, galbanum, clove and cinnamon

Although these did not make the cut they were very very close- they were all K.O.ed by their respective mirrors on the list (eg. niche/niche, designer/designer and Hermés/Hermés) =] Without further ado, here were the top threes that nearly made the cut:

L'Artisan Parfumeur La Chasse aux Papillons EdT (fem.)
For those that like: green florals, bright-daytime scents
Recommendations: Annick Goutal Eau de Ciel, Annick Goutal Eau de Camille
Placed here purely because I could not justify it's price tag (EdC - one of my all time favs - was the only exception I'm willing to make ;]). It brightens up everything- "La Chasse aux Papillons", the chase of butterflies- embodies spring.
L'Artisan Parfumeur La Chasse aux Papillons EdT has notes of tuberose, orange blossom, jasmine and lime blossom

Marc Jabob's Daisy EdT (fem.)
For those that like: girly and fresh perfumes, light florals
Recommendations: D&G Light Blue, D&G 03 L'impératrice
It's easy to wear and easy to love, not something that would leave behind a memorable impression but is very "pretty" whilst it lasts. Just a word of warning though- if you don't like overly clean, 'just washed' type of smell, Daisy may not be your cup of tea...
Marc Jabob's Daisy EdT has notes of strawberries, violet leaves, pink grapefruit, gardenia, violet, jasmine, blond wood, vanilla and musk

Jo Malone White Jasmine & Mint
For those that like: tea scents, clean and uncomplicated perfumes
Recommendations: L’Artisan Parfumeur The Pour Un Ete, Jo Malone Honeysuckle & Jasminw
Like a sip of iced tea in the blazing sun- White Jasmine & Mint is very refreshing and invigorating- as Jo Malone describes it, it's "a sun-drenched morning in an English country garden"!
Jo Malone White Jasmine & Mint has notes of mint, jasmine, lily, orange flower and rose

r e v i e w ~ spin me at the aquarium

*laughs* I just couldn't let the oppurtunity to reference Mawaru Penguindrum (a.k.a. one of my favorite animes ever) be lost. As cliche as it may seem, blue lenses generally either remind me of water or the sky.. or well... something that you would generically paint blue on canvas XD

Today, I'll be reviewing a pair of Vassen Vivian 3-Tones in blue, they are also known as Vassen Crystals.

Color/Design: Color wise the Vivian 3-tones lens are my HGs, they blend beautifully with green/hazel/brown eyes (any eye color that has a hint of yellow in them) and are incredibly opaque in both real life and in photographs. This pair (the blue ones) are the darkest colored lenses of the whole series and they are a bright mid-aqua color blended with a dirty yellow shade. Most of the lens is the 'iris color' and the outer rim is incredibly thin- however this paired with the design really enhances the shiny-ness of your eyes and makes them look like jewels. In the right angles a halo effect can be achieved by them too.

Comfort: These are incredibly thin- hence very, very comfortable and super easy to put in despite its large-ish diameter. I am able to wear this for 8 hours straight with not a hint of redness in my eyes and only experiencing dryness after the 9th of 10th hour.

Enlargement: Although marketed at a whopping 16.5 mm- they are definitely not that big! Netherless, I am not big on enlargement as the other features in my face (and my face in general =P) are quite petit. They do, however give (subtle) enlargement and look as if they are in the 14.5-14.8mm family. Since these blue lenses are the darkest of the series, if you were looking for enlargement your best bet would be with the greys and browns.

r e v i e w ~ lead me down the garden path

Never have I been complimented about my lenses as much as I do when I have these on. My friend who had never tried circle lenses before and was determined to not be swayed despite my constant nagging was so enamored with these that she asked me to get her a pair of her own.

Today, I'll be reviewing a pair of Vassen Vivian 3-Tones in green, they are also known as Vassen Crystals.

Color/Design: These lenses will blend beautifully with anyone who has naturally green/hazel/brown eyes (any eye color that has a hint of yellow in them) and are incredibly opaque in both real life and in photographs. They look slightly brighter and more neon on camera and appear lighter and peppermint-ish in real life. The whole series has strands of color blended with a dark yellow shade. This pair in particular has strands of green varying from jade to emerald. The outer rim is incredibly thin so it still looks quite natural.

Comfort: These are incredibly thin- hence very, very comfortable and super easy to put in despite its large-ish diameter. I am able to wear this for 8 hours straight with not a hint of redness in my eyes and only experiencing dryness after the 9th of 10th hour.

Enlargement: Although marketed at a whopping 16.5 mm- they only look around 14.5-14.8 in real life. I am not big on enlargement so I do not find this a problem, however if you are one looking for enlargement I highly recommend you checking out the grey lenses of the same series as it's light color and seamless blending make for a pair of very natural lenses that will make your eyes look huge.

Can you believe how long it's been since my last post?
It's been 2 months... 2 freaking months!

Because my school thought it'd be nice to block my blog -3-"

Of course, I've tried over and over again trying to get past the block- but alas, the school's wifi is what I'm using and there is jut no way to pass it... therefore... I'm just going to "start" this while I'm still in Paris and press the 'publish' button at school (mwuahahaha) - only downpoint is that I can't see this post on my actual blog ><

Oh well~ just thought I'd share with you guys all the amazing stuff I did in Paris =]
